If you are under 17: You may only drive with one passenger who is also under 17, unless that person is a family member. This restriction lasts for 6 months, from the date upon which your drivers license was issued.
If you are under 16: The above passenger restriction applies, as do the following:
- You can only drive alone during the day. When driving at night, you must be accompanied by a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old. This person must be seated in the front passenger seat.
- You can have no other passengers in the front seat other than a supervising driver.
You’ll keep your underage drivers license until you turn 18; at that time, you’ll be able to replace it with the full unrestricted Idaho drivers license.
